How to find the WordPress version

Method 1# – Site Health – Info

1. Log into your WordPress site
2. In the left-hand sidebar, hover over the “Tools” link and then click on “Site Health“
3. Click on the “Info” page in “Site Health“
4. Next, click on the “WordPress” tab.

Now you should be able to see “Version” which tells you which version of WordPress you are running.

Method 2# – In the Admin Dashboard

To check your WordPress version simply log in and head on to your WordPress site’s “Dashboard”. Here you should see a block called “At a Glance”; at the bottom of it, you can see the version of the WordPress you are running and the theme your site is using.

Method 3# – Bottom of WordPress dashboard

Another way to see your WordPress version at a glance is to check the right bottom corner of your WordPress site’s admin dashboard. Simply check the right bottom corner and you should see something like “Version X.X.X” stating which version of WordPress you are currently using.

Method 4# – Check the source code

Though this method might be a bit tricker you can usually find the version of WordPress in multiple places of the source code (unless it’s removed or hidden by the developer).

Simply go to the site, open your browser’s page inspector and search for keywords like “?ver=” after this you should see “?ver=X.X.X” where the three numbers tell you the version of WordPress.
